St. Clair Township officials are celebrating the opening of a new laboratory and health services centre.
Dynacare opened earlier this month within the medical centre in Corunna.
Mayor Jeff Agar told those gathered at a recent grand opening, the municipality invested $150,000 into the facility by allocating community benefit funding received from Hydro One's St. Clair Transmission Line project.
"This new centre didn't happen by chance – it was made possible through the persistence, advocacy, and collaboration of many partners who shared a common goal of improving access to healthcare," said Agar. "Thank you to Dr. Clifford of the Corunna medical centre, Hydro One, Dynacare, and everyone who played a role in bringing this important service to St. Clair Township."
The new centre offers access to over 1,500 tests, with most results available to healthcare providers online within 24 hours.
Dynacare CEO Vito Ciciretto said they were proud to partner with the township to bring high-quality laboratory testing and healthcare services closer to home for residents across the region.
"This new collection centre reflects our shared commitment to improving access to care and supporting healthier communities," said Ciciretto.
The St. Clair Medical Centre, at the corner of Hill and Murray Streets, officially opened last October.
