The popular Bluewater Anglers' Walleye Derby gets underway at 6 p.m. Friday night.
Participants can either fish in a boat or on shore.
The Bluewater Anglers Salmon Derby boundaries apply.
Anglers can fish in the St. Clair River south to the south end of Fawn Island, east to the harbor at Grand Bend, and north latitude 43’34” in Lake Huron.
Everybody is eligible to enter, provided you have a valid fishing licence and you have purchased a $10 entry ticket.
If fishing in a group, everybody in the group must have a ticket.
Tickets are available at The Outdoorsman until 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 24 or online through the "Donate" link on the Bluewater Anglers website until 5.59 p.m. the same day.
Any money raised will go to support the Bluewater Anglers.
The weigh-in will be at the Hatchery from 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, and you must be in line by 2:30 p.m. to have your entries qualify.
We're reminded this is a single fish event and you can only weigh in one walleye.
Prizes will be awarded to the 10 heaviest walleyes, including $500 for first place which was donated by the Village of Point Edward.
A $100 prize will also be given for the biggest fish (by weight) entered by a Bluewater Angler member.
Winners will be announced immediately after completion of the weigh-in.
There will be draw prizes with winners drawn from all Walleye Derby entrants present.
Participants must be present to win a draw prize.
