Helicopters to be used in military training

Sarnia residents may hear helicopters in the area this week as military training is conducted.

Members of the Canadian Special Operations Forces Command will conduct routine training around Muskoka, Meaford, Bruce Peninsula, Sarnia, and Cockburn Island from July 27 to July 30.

A public service announcement said it will primarily involve low overwater flight training, and people may see or hear up to three CH-146 Griffon helicopters.

The training is scheduled to take place between 3 p.m. and 2 a.m.

The Canadian Special Operations Forces Command thanked communities for their understanding and said efforts will be made to minimize disruptions.
