High calibre fastpitch softball action is coming to the area over the next week.
The International Softball Congress (ISC) is holding its men's fastpitch softball world club team championship in Melbourne and Glencoe.
It's taking place August 8 to 15 at JDT First Energy Veterans Memorial Fields and the Southwest Middlesex Recreation Complex.
Bear Creek Express General Manager Paul McCart said 54 of the top clubs from across North America are competing in three divisions.
"Just on the three teams that I manage, we have players from 11 different countries," said McCart. "It's pretty fun, because you are seeing the best players in the world. We have the best pitchers, the best catchers, the best infielders in the world. It's a pretty exciting time for all of us to host it so locally. And you know, this area was once a hotbed for fastball, so it'd be cool to see some of them older fans get out and bring some young teams out. It would be great to see."
A week pass is $75, or $10 per day.
Children aged 12 and under get in for free.
