The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is reporting the seizure of tens of millions of dollars worth of cocaine from a truck entering Canada at the Blue Water Bridge.
On August 13, the vehicle was referred for secondary examination and border officers confiscated 385 kilograms of the drug.
The driver was arrested and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) laid charges of importing a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
The charges haven't been proven in court.
CBSA Regional Director General for the Southern Ontario Region Michael Prosia commented on the seizure in a news release.
"This significant seizure of cocaine demonstrates the professionalism and expertise of border services officers working at the Blue Water Bridge port of entry," he said. "Every day, they are working with law enforcement partners to secure Canada's border and prevent harm in our communities."
In fiscal year 2025 to 2026, the CBSA seized over 4,500 kg of cocaine/crack.
