Mayors in five Lambton municipalities have been acclaimed for the upcoming term.
Across Ontario, candidates running unopposed in the October 26 vote were acclaimed after 4 p.m. on Monday.
In the Town of Petrolia, Joel Field has been acclaimed as the new mayor-elect. Current mayor Brad Loosley announced in February he would not be seeking another term after decades in municipal service.
In Warwick Township, Todd Case has also been acclaimed as mayor.
Enniskillen Township Mayor Kevin Marriott was also acclaimed, alongside all four candidates seeking a seat on council.
Oil Springs Mayor Ian Veen and Dawn-Euphemia Mayor Alan Broad were both once again acclaimed for another term.
The deadline for candidates to register for the upcoming election was Friday, August 21 at 2 p.m.
