The Inn of the Good Shepherd will share information about its proposed lodge expansion on Thursday evening.
Executive Director Jack Christine said a public open house will be held on September 17 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Salvation Army at 970 Confederation Street in Sarnia.
"There will be a video walk through of the existing lodge as it is now, we'll have some rendered drawings of what the expansion will look like, we will have some community partners there, members from the county's social services department and there will be members of the Inn of the Good Shepherd's shelter team as well," Christine said.
Christine said the group welcomes anyone with questions about the project to attend.
The 1,700 square foot addition would see the number of beds increase by over 40.
While Christine didn't share when they hope to kick off construction, he did say they hope to have the project completed by late 2027.
"We've engaged with an architect, so we need to do pre-construction work and [complete] rezoning [requirements]," he said.
The County of Lambton agreed to provide a $988,000 grant from the Affordable Housing Reserve to move the project forward earlier this year.
Pre-registration in advance of the open house is encouraged and can be completed on the Inn's website.
