Sting sign Brown, assign him to Leamington Flyers

The Sarnia Sting have signed 2026 third round draft pick Brody Brown to a Standard Player Agreement.

The Ontario Hockey League (OHL) made the announcement Monday ahead of the upcoming season.

The Wheatley, Ontario native joins the Sting after a strong season with Vaughan Kings, during which he scored seven goals and added 28 assists in 33 games played.

The six-foot-three forward joins Captain Alessandro Di Iorio, Cole Emerton and Sarnia fourth overall pick Adrian Sgro, as former Vaughan King players.

General Manager Dylan Seca said Brown will play the upcoming season with the Leamington Flyers of the OJHL.

“To get Brody signed is the opportunity to continue to work with him and his development alongside the Leamington Flyers for the season," said Seca. "He had a very strong camp. He showed us his hockey sense and his playmaking ability. This signing strengthens our 2010-born draft group, and puts us in a great position”

Brown becomes the latest member of Sarnia’s 2026 OHL Priority Selection class to sign with the organization and will look to continue his development as he begins his journey with the Sting.

Sarnia opens the regular season on September 19 in Sault St. Marie.

Their first home game is set for October 2 as the Greyhounds visit Progressive Auto Sales Arena for a rematch.

You can hear every game on Big Country 103.9.
