Electors in St. Clair Township can hear from those running in the fall municipal election during an upcoming all-candidates forum.
The Optimist Club of Moore and Optimist Club of Sombra Township are hosting two events with municipal and school board trustee candidates.
The first event will be held on Wednesday, September 16, at 7 p.m. at the Port Lambton Community Hall. The second will be held on Tuesday, September 29, at 7 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 447 in Corunna.
Both events are free to attend and do not require pre-registration.
St. Clair Township Clerk Jeff Baranek will be at both events to explain the new online voting process. Resources related to internet voting can also be found on St. Clair Township's website.
There are two people running for mayor: incumbent Jeff Agar and Bruce Gibson.
Former mayor Steve Arnold was acclaimed as deputy mayor. Bill Myers and Bradley Langstaff were also acclaimed as Ward 2 councillors.
Tracy Kingston, Cathy Langis, Alex Machan, Holly Foster, and Pat Brown are running for councillor in Ward 1.
Meanwhile, Greg Agar and Cynthia Workman are vying for the Lambton Kent District School Board trustee position.
David Paradis was acclaimed as the French Public Viamonde - Area 8 trustee, Jacqueline Rowe will serve as the St. Clair Catholic District School Board trustee, and Michael Salvatore was acclaimed as the Conseil Scolaire Catholique Providence trustee.
The 2026 Municipal Election will be held on Monday, October 26.
