The Bluewater Health Foundation has officially launched its 32nd annual Dream Home Lottery.
Tickets went on sale Thursday morning.
"It's hard to believe that it's already here again," exclaimed Bluewater Health Foundation Executive Director Kathy Alexander. "I think it's such a special tradition for a lot of people in our community and beyond, and that's why it's been successful for 32 years, raising funds in support of Bluewater Health."
The 2027 grand prize features a fully-furnished $1.19 million home at 3504 Paul Cres. in the Errol Wood subdivision in Camlachie.
"It's built by Iacobelli Construction. We've worked with Frank [Iacobelli] for many, many years over the dream home duration, and each and every year he stuns us with the incredible home that he builds for us, and this one is no exception," Alexander said.
The 1,867-square-foot bungalow features an open-concept kitchen, dining and great room, with a cathedral ceiling. The main floor offers two bedrooms, including a primary suite with a walk-in closet and five-piece ensuite. A fully finished lower level includes two additional bedrooms, a three-piece bathroom, a recreation room, and a custom bar area.
The home also includes a triple-car garage and professionally landscaped grounds.
The home was designed and drafted by T. Bouma Design & Drafting, with Design Coordinator Maiya Iacobelli.
Alexander said the home is "beautiful" and is going through some finishing touches. Once the fine details are completed, updated photos will be posted online.
If the grand prize winner doesn't want the home, they have the option of taking $1 million cash instead.
The lottery also features 11,118 fixed prizes valued at more than $1.7 million, along with the Dream 50/50 jackpot. The first early bird deadline is on October 21.
"It's quite comparable to last year's prize board. I will note that the new Dream Calendar did sell out last year, and that was a great addition to the lottery prize board," Alexander said. "So if you are buying tickets, we encourage you to get the calendars early."
Money raised through the lottery will support diagnostic imaging and the redevelopment of Charlotte Eleanor Englehart Hospital (CEEH) of Bluewater Health.
“Diagnostic imaging plays an essential role across so many areas of patient care, while the redevelopment of CEEH represents an important investment in the future of rural healthcare in Petrolia and surrounding communities," said Bluewater Health President and CEO Paula Reaume-Zimmer in a media release. "We are immensely grateful to everyone who supports these priorities through the Dream Home Lottery."
Residents can get their first look at the home on October 3, and open houses will continue Saturdays and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. throughout the campaign (subject to schedule changes).
Dream Home Lottery tickets are two for $50, six for $100, 16 for $250, or 35 for $375. Bundles are also available. Tickets can be purchased online, by phone at 1-844-667-3251, or in-person during open houses or at the Bluewater Health Foundation Office, located on Norman Street in Sarnia.
The final deadline to purchase Dream Home tickets is February 10, 2027, at 11:59 p.m., and the grand prize draw will take place on February 25, 2027, at 10 a.m., with the winner announced by noon.
Over the past three decades, the lottery has raised over $11 million.
Sharon and Jim Jardine won the 2026 Dream Home Lottery grand prize in February. In August, the foundation announced that the couple had opted to accept the keys to their new $1.46 million home in Sarnia.
