The Sarnia Sting have added an overage defenceman to the roster.
Liam Spencer from the Niagara IceDogs will join the OHL club in exchange for a sixth round pick in 2027.
The 6'3', 191 pound defenceman and London native started his OHL career in Mississauga before joining the Knights for the 2024-25 season where he was a part of the Memorial Cup championship campaign.
Spencer joined Niagara in September 2025, where he played 60 games during the 2025-26 season
“Liam’s size and experience is exactly what we have been looking for," said Sarnia Sting General Manager Dylan Seca in a news release. "He is very knowledgeable in his role, and I have a lot of appreciation for the elements of his game.”
Spencer is expected make his Sting debut Friday night in London, to wrap up the Rivalry Week Series.
