Kyrou and Chmelevski Win Gold

Jordan Kyrou and Sasha Chmelevski will come to Sarnia Sting Camp August 31 with goal medals.

Kyrou and Team Canada rolled over Sweden Sunday to win Canada's eighth straight gold medal at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament.

Chmelevski and his US squad beat Germany 8-1 in Sunday's final at the Five Nations under 17 tournament. Chmelevski had a goal and two assists in the game, capping off a strong tournament for the Sting first rounder.

Sarnia Sting camps starts August 31, two weeks from today, their annual Black and White game is set for Sept 2 at 7:05, with pregame festivities getting underway two hours prior to puck drop.

They open up the regular season up Friday, September 25 when they host the Erie Otters.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
