Legionnaires Open Preseason Against St. Thomas

The Sarnia Legionnaires begin exhibition play tonight when they host the St. Thomas Stars at Clearwater Arena.

Earlier this week the team named Hunter Tyczynski captain, and also announced Jordan Fogarty, Brandon Layman and Ryan Trottier would be assistant captains. Entering his first season with the club, Head Coach Mark Davis says despite losing a handful of veteran players he expects his team to be competitive in what will be a tough Western Conference. It's the first of six exhibition games for the Legionnaires before they open the regular season September 12 in London for the GOJHL Showcase. Davis says they should have a good idea of the final roster by Thursday when they host the Strathroy Rockets.

Puck drop for tonight's contest is set for 7.
