Sting Comeback Falls Short In Flint

The Sarnia Sting couldn't recover from four first period goals by the home team in Flint, Michigan Friday night.

Four different players scored for the Firebirds to give them a 4-0 lead through 20 minutes, outshooting the Sting 10-6.

Davis Brown scored his first goal of the season to get Sarnia on the scoreboard midway through the second period. Jordan Kyrou picked up his second of the campaign in the period's final minute to trim Flint's lead to 4-2.

A third period goal from Pavel Zacha pulled the Sting tp within one but that's as close as they'd come.

Flint hangs on to beat Sarnia 4-3 despite the Sting's 15-5 shot advantage during the third period. It's the third time Sarnia has lost to Flint this season, all by one goal.

The Sting host Guelph Saturday night in their only other game this weekend.
