Legionnaires and Nationals Tie In London

The Sarnia Legionnaires and London Nationals skated to a 5-5 tie Wednesday night.

The Nationals' offense fired 45 shots on the Sarnia goal, with Aidan Hughes stopping 40, including seven shots in overtime.

Brendan Shagena, Jacob Stos, Jarret Marks and Jordan Fogarty each scored for Sarnia. Ryan Vandramin added a goal and an assist bring his team leading point total to 47 in 24 games.

Sarnia carried a 5-2 lead into the third period but gave up three unanswered goals, including one with just a minute remaining on the third period clock.

The two teams totallyed 13 shots through a pair of five minute overtime periods but neither team could find the back of the net.

With the tie, Sarnia currently sits 6th in the GOJHLs Western Conference with a 16-13-2-3 record.

The Legionnaires have a rematch with the Nationals (20-9-4-1) Thursday night at Sarnia Arena.
