Legionnaires Host Mini Camp

Minor hockey players from across Sarnia-Lambton have been invited to take part in the Sarnia Legionnaires minicamp this weekend. It kicks off on Friday night at 6pm at Sarnia Arena with goalie drills and continues at 9am Saturday and Sunday with scrimmages. GM Bob Williamson stresses the importance of having local kids on the team. "We've always tried to stay as local as we could. We were more local last year and our attendance went up," says Williams. "It really helps when the guy comes to the rink and brings 10 people to watch him play." Williamson's says he makes sure that every eligible minor hockey player in Sarnia, Mooretown and Petrolia receives and invite. He says the best players from camp will be showcased at the top 40 game on Sunday at 2pm. Admission is free for the public all weekend. The Legionnaires are losing a number of players from last season including Jordan Fogarty, who is heading to Princeton University. As well as Ryan Vendramin, Brandon Layman, Ryan Trottier, Konnor Roskovich, and PJ VanderVaart.
