Locals Facing Off In Sutherland Cup Finals

This year's Sutherland Cup Final will have local connections.

The London Nationals beat Stratford 2-6 Saturday to advance to the finals. Petrolia's Brenden Trottier was held off the score sheet in game six but  has scored 24 points in 23 playoff games.

London will face Caledonia, who has yet to lose this post season. They are lead by 17 20 year olds including Sarnia natives Corey Pawley and Nick Zottl. Pawley leads all playoff scorers with 50 points in 16 post season games.

Former Sting Davis Brown is also with Caledonia. He's officially a call up from Junior C Hagersville and has 10 points in 14 playoff games.

The Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League final is expected to get underway this week.

2009 was the last time the Sarnia Legionnaires were among the GOJHL's elite, finishing behind Brantford and Stoney Creek in the Sutherland Cup round robin.
