OHL Finals Open In London Thursday night

The OHL Final gets underway Thursday night in London as the Knights host the Eastern Conference Champion Niagara IceDogs.

London won both games between the two teams in the regular season but both were close.

The Knights are coming off sweeps over West leading Erie and Kitchener while Niagara swept away Barrie and Kingston, who finished first place in the East.

Niagara has only lost once this post season.

Mitchell Marner, who was named the OHL's Most Outstanding Player earlier this week, leads all playoff goal scorers with 15 goals and 37 points in 14 games.

The two teams met during the 2012 finals where London defeated Niagara in five games to win their first of back to back OHL Championships.

Looking at the other league finals across the CHL, Rouyn-Noranda beat Shawinigan 4-2 to open the QMJHL final Wednesday night.

The WHL Final opens Friday in Brandon when the Wheat Kings host Seattle. The two teams are separated by a 21 hour drive.

The winners of the three leagues will travel to Red Deer for the Memorial Cup that begins May 19.
