Sting captain To Join StFX

Another Sting captain is joining St. Francis Xavier University of the CIS.

Sam Studnicka has committed to play for the Axemen next season.

Former captains Craig Duininck and Nathan Chiarlitti played for StFX last season, losing to the University of New Brunswick in the National Championship game.

Zack MacQueen and goalie Brandon Hope also suited up for the Xmen last year.

Studnicka was named captain after coming to Sarnia at the trade deadline from the Ottawa 67's.

The Tecumseh native began his OHL career with Windsor, suiting up for 257 games in just over four seasons in the league.

To begin his junior career, Studnicka played 49 games with the Chatham Maroons (GOJHL).

His younger brother Jack plays for the Oshawa Generals.
