Several Sting Invited To Hockey Canada Camps

A pair of Sarnia Sting have been invited to Canada's World Junior Selection Camp this summer.

Travis Konecny, who is returning from last years team, and Jakob Chychrun will also be at camp from July 30 until August 6. They will participate in practices in Toronto before playing in an exhibition series against Finland, Sweden, and the United States at the USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan.

It's a busy week for Chychrun, who is expected to hear his name called in the first round of the NHL Entry Draft Friday night.

Also invited to Hockey Canada camps, a couple of Sting draft picks, Ethan Lavalee and Samuel Stevens have been invited to Team Canada's Development Camp for the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge from July 29 until August 2 in Calgary.

The Sarnia Sting open the 2016-2017 regular season at home against London on Wednesday, September 21.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
