Imperials Host Steel City Saturday

The Sarnia Imperials will look to improve on their West Division leading 4-1 record when they host the Steel City Patriots (3-2) Saturday night at Norm Perry Park.

A win wont guarantee the Imperials their second straight West Division title, but with just three games left on the season, a win would put them in the driver's seat heading into the home stretch.

Head Coach Jake Cherski says they're in for a tough test against Steel City, who have proven to be a handful in past matchups.

It's the first meeting between the teams this year but the Patriots did win both games against them last year, something that Cherski says is fresh in their minds.

"They've gotten the best of us the last two times, one in overtime and an unfortunate wet game the first time we met them came right down to the wire," says Cherski. "We got a little bit of redemption on our minds, so we're looking forward to the game."

He says with three games remaining in the regular season they are looking to finish strong.

"We're trying to stabilize the team so we don't go on this rollar coaster ride of highs and lows," says Cherski. "We Just have to stay focused with our pass game and our run game, and if our defence plays strong like they have been, we should be in good shape."

Saturday is also fan appreciation night, kick off form Alix Field at Norm Perry Park is at 7pm.
