Sting Acquire Overage Forward From Owen Sound

Just two days before the start of their 2016-2017 OHL season, the Sarnia Sting have acquired overage forward Jaden Lindo from Owen Sound.

In return, the Attack gets Sault Ste. Marie's fourth round pick in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection, one of three fourth round picks previously held by the Sting in 2018.

At 6' 2", 215 lbs, Lindo is a rugged right winger selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the sixth round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. The 20-year-old Brampton native was a second round pick of the Attack in 2012 and has 34 goals and 79 points in 219 OHL games. He had 30 points including 14 goals in 67 games with Owen Sound last year.

Sting General Manager Nick Sinclair feels Lindo will be a great addition to the club. "Jaden is a power forward who plays a very physical game and isn’t afraid to go into the tough areas of the ice," says Sinclair. "Between his experience in this league, and the way he plays the game, Jaden is going to be a great compliment to our current group.”

The Sting kick off the season against the defending Memorial Cup champion London Knights Wednesday night at Progressive Auto Sales Arena.
