Junior Hockey Wrap Up

Ethan Nother scored his first as a National as London (10-3-0-0) edged Leamington (8-3-0-2) 4-3 in GOJHL action Wednesday evening. Petrolia's Brenden Trottier had an assist in the victory, he has points in his last three games. LaSalle (10-2-0-2) scored four first period goals and added two more in the second, en route to a 6-2 win over St. Thomas (3-10-0-1). The Sarnia Legionnaires (6-5-0-0) hosts St. Marys (3-10-0-0) Thursday night at Sarnia Arena, Chatham (9-3-0-0) travels to Leamington. -- Mooretown (4-5-2) dropped a 5-1 decision against Lakeshore (5-3-0) in Provincial Junior Hockey League play. The Flags opened the scoring with a goal from Joe Stock, but surrendered five unanswered goals in the loss. The Petrolia Flyers (4-6-0) hosts first placed Blenheim (8-1-2) Thursday night. -- The Sarnia Sting (7-2-1-0) are on the road in Peterborough (4-4-0-2) tonight to face the Petes, before travelling to Oshawa (5-5-0-0) Friday.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
