Hockey Briefs for October 26

A pair of games in the GOJHL Wednesday night.

The Lambton Shores Predators (4-8-0-2) are on the the road to take on the first place LaSalle Vipers (10-2-0-3). The Vipers are coming off an overtime loss to Chatham, which snapped LaSalle's ten game win streak. Lambton Shores have lost four straight.

The London Nationals (10-3-1-0) are home to St. Thomas (4-10-0-1). Petrolia's Brenden Trottier has points in his last four games, and sits second on the team with 16 points in 14 games.

In PJHL action, Wallaceburg (1-8-1) hosts Amherstburg (6-7-0). The Lakers are coming off their first win of the season, a come from behind victory over Petrolia on Sunday.

A pair of Lambton Jr. Sting teams were in action Tuesday night.

The Minor Peewee team tied Chatham-Kent 1-1, and the Major Bantams fell 4-1 to London.

Sarnia Sting forward Jordan Kyrou was named to the OHL's roster for the 2016 CIBC Canada Russia Series.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
