Hockey Briefs for October 28

The Sarnia Legionnaires beat first placed LaSalle 4-1 at Sarnia Arena Thursday night.

Zach Vanderwal, Cameron Rannie, Joey Zappa and Jarrett Marks scored for the Legionnaires.

Leamington cruised to an 8-0 win over St. Mary's.

Mooretown beat Petrolia 5-3 in PJHL action Thursday night to win their third straight.

Wallaceburg is at Lakeshore Friday night.

The Lambton Jr Sting Minor Midgets lost 5-1 to Elgin Middlesex.

Just one game this weekend for the 3-1 Petrolia Squires, they host the Ripley Wolves Friday at the Greenwood Rec Centre.

The Sarnia Sting host Mississauga Friday to begin a three game in three night weekend.

Other Sting news, Nikita Korostelev was named to Russia's prelim roster for the CHL Canada- Russia series.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
