Hockey Briefs for November 1

The Sarnia Legionnaires host Leamington in a rare Tuesday matchup at Sarnia Arena. The Legionnaires just dropped a 4-2 decision in Leamington Sunday Sarnia is 9-7 on the season, and are 5th in the conference.

Greg Hay scored twice and added an assist as Mooretown fell 5-3 in Wheatley.

Petrolia hosts Wallaceburg on Thursday.

The Montreal Canadiens have returned defenceman Mikhail Sergachev to the OHL's Windsor Spitfires. Sergachev was Montreal's 9th overall pick in last spring's draft, and played in three games with the Habs this season. Other OHL news, Erie goalie Troy Timpano was the OHL Player of the week with a shutout in a pair of victories. The Sarnia Sting are home to Kitchener Wednesday night.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
