Coyotes Call Up DeAngelo

The Arizona Coyotes have recalled former Sarnia Sting defenceman Anthony DeAngelo from the American Hockey League.

DeAngelo, a first round draft pick by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2014 NHL draft, was traded to Arizona in June. The Coyotes called up DeAngelo prior to their game in Colorado Tuesday night after the blueliner posted a goal and six assists in eight games in the AHL this season.

The New Jersey native had 190 points with the Sting, after Sarnia selected him in the second round of the 2011 OHL Priority Selection. DeAngelo finished his OHL career with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds following a trade in June 2015. Anthony Salinitri, a 16-year-old rookie at the time, came to Sarnia as part of the deal. DeAngelo joins fellow Sting alumni Jakob Chychrun and Connor Murphy on the Arizona blueline.
