Hockey Briefs For November 16

The Lambton Shores Predators are in London Wednesday night for a a game against the Nationals. The Preds acquired defenceman Noah Bennett from Niagara Falls, he's expected to be in the lineup against London.

They continue a busy week in Sarnia Thursday for a game against the Legionnaires, before host St. Thomas Saturday night at the Shores Recreation Centre in Forest.

Around the GOJHL Wednesday night, Leamington is in LaSalle. The Vipers have a two point leads on the Flyers and Nationals for top spot in the Western Conference.

Kyle Smith scored the only goal for Mooretown as the Flags dropped a 3-1 decision in Essex Tuesday night. Outshot 35-24 in the loss, the Flags were missing several regulars, who were still suspended following a dust up Saturday night against Wheatley Around the PJHL Wednesday night, Wallaceburg hosts Wheatley.

The senior girls hockey season gets underway this afternoon with Great Lakes hosting LCCVI at Sarnia Arena for a 2:30 puck drop. St. Pats and Northern face off at Clearwater Arena at 3pm in senior boys hockey

The Lambton Jr. Sting Minor Atoms tied Chatham-Kent 2-2 in Blenheim Tuesday evening. The Major Atoms host Chatham-Kent at Progressive Auto Sales Arena Wednesday.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
