Junior Hockey Briefs for November 23

OHL

Kyle Jenkins scored a pair of goals as Peterborough got by Oshawa 5-4 in a shootout.

The Sarnia Sting host the Kitchener Rangers tonight for a 7:05pm puck drop at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena.

Elsewhere tonight, Saginaw pays Flint and London is up in Owen Sound.

Lambton Shores lost an ugly one Tuesday night against Strathoy 9-4. Marcel Berube scored twice while Kyle Fisher and Petrolia's Isaac McLean added singles. The win gives the Rockets a bit of breathing room over the Preds in the Western Conference standings and now sit six points up. Strathroy has won all four meetings between the two teams this season. Tonight, Sarnia is in LaSalle and Chatham travels to London. -- PJHL

Essex beat Blenheim 9-1 for their second win in as many nights. Tonight, Petrolia is in Wheatley and Wallaceburg hosts Lakeshore.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
