Squires Continue To Roll

A pair of wins for the Petrolia Squires over the weekend.

Shawn Waldie scored twice Friday, including the overtime winner, in a 4-3 decision over Ripley. Kraig Wright and Zach Lewis both scored a pair of goals Saturday night, as the Squires rolled to a 6-2 win in Milverton.

The Squires are 9-2 on the season and sit in a tie with Saugeen Shores for first place overall.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
