Local Hockey Briefs for December 6

The Sarnia Legionnaires (16-12-0-0) host Leamington (15-7-1-5) Tuesday night at Sarnia Arena. The Legionnaires sit fifth place in the Western Conference standings and have dropped three straight contests. They have one win against the Flyers in three games so far this season, the only meeting between the two teams at Sarnia Arena. The Flyers sit just four points up on Sarnia for fourth place. Sarnia added Brendan Ritchie to the team from the Chatham Maroons, in exchange for the rights to Austin Bentley, who had been playing Jr C in Dresden. -- Wallaceburg (1-21-1) is in Essex (17-5-1) in PJHL action. -- The Lambton Jr Sting Major Midgets host the London Jr Knights tonight for a 8pm puck drop at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena The Minor Atoms are in Komoka to play Elgin Middlesex.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
