NHL Notes for December 14

San Jose rallied from two goals down in the third period to beat Toronto 3-2 in a shootout. Auston Matthews notched a goal and an assist in the loss. Logan Couture scored the only goal in the shootout.

Jakob Chychrun had an assist and Anthony DeAngelo scored in Arizona's 4-1 win over the Red Wings. Coyotes forward Max Domi will be out indefinitely after undergoing surgery on his right hand. Domi was injured in a fight with Calgary's Garnet Hathaway last week.

Carolina scored six third period goals to erase a three goal deficit and beat Vancouver 8-6. Jeff Skinner had two goals for the 'Canes.

Jack Eichel scored twice as Buffalo doubled up Los Angeles 6-3.

A pair of third period goals from Matt Niskanen helped Washington over the Islanders 4-2. Brett Connolly and Justin Williams also scored for the Capitals, who won their fifth straight.

Dallas got three points from captain Jamie Benn as the Stars beat the Anaheim Ducks 6-2.

Sam Gagner had a goal and an assist as the red-hot Blue Jackets won their seventh straight, beating Edmonton 3-1.

Chicago held on to a 2-1 win over the New York Rangers. The outcome keeps the Rangers in a first-place tie with Pittsburgh in the Metropolitan Division. The Blackhawks lead the NHL's Western Conference with 42 points.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
