Canada Shuts Out Slovakia

Canada scored four goals in the second period to cruise to an easy 5-0 win over Slovakia at the World Junior Hockey Championships Tuesday evening in Toronto.

It was a balanced attack up front for the Canadians, with five different players finding the back of the net.

Jeremy Lauzon, Taylor Raddysh, Anthony Cirelli, Thomas Chabot and Michael McLeod all scored for Canada, which took over first place in Group B with six points.

Connor Ingram needed to make just six saves to record the shutout, as Canada outshot their opponents 44-6.

Canada is now 2-0 in the tournament after beating Russia 5-3 in their opener.

The Canadians continue their preliminary round schedule against Latvia on Thursday night followed by a tough test against the Americans on New Year's Eve.
