Lions Travel To Mohawk

Lambton College basketball travels to Mohawk Friday night, with both teams coming off a pair of wins last weekend over Sault College.

The women tip of at 6pm, with the men to follow at 8pm. Both games are being played at Mohawk College in Hamilton.

The lady Lions snapped a seven game losing streak with a 73-56 win last Saturday, followed up by a 72-50 victory Sunday afternoon. Madisyn Campbell lead the way with 26 points Saturday, and 19 on Sunday.

The men's team record their first victories of the season last weekend, 88-70 and 67-39 over Sault College. Jason Marshall led the way with 21 points Saturday, while Branden Padgett recorded a double-double in both games, finishing the weekend with 34 points and 21 rebounds.

Both teams were on the losing end of the scoreboard against Mohawk in November, with the men losing 93-97, and the women dropping a 78-52 decision.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
