High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

<p>The LKSSAA winter season is nearing an end as playoffs begin to wrap up locally.</p><p>
Mason Best scored 17 points as St Francois-Xavier got by Lambton-Kent 46-40 in the "A" Senior Boys Basketball semifinals. They will play Pain Court in the finals Tuesday, February 21.
 
Friday, LCCVI hosts John McGregor in the "AA" Senior Girls Volleyball Finals.
 
Finals are set for Saturday in junior and senior boys basketball.
 
In senior play, LCCVI is at John McGregor for a 3pm tip off in the "AA" finals. Unbeaten Norther hosts Great Lakes in the "AAA" finals, for a 5pm tip off.
 
St. Pat's is at Chatham Kent for a 4pm start in the Junior Boys 'AAA' Finals.
 
Playoffs begin next week in both senior girls and boys hockey.</p>
