The Petrolia Squires are moving on to the second round of the WOAA Sr AA playoffs.

Brent Sauve and Kraig Wright scored twice for Petrolia in a 6-4 win Friday over visiting Ripley to take the series in five games. Chris Wilson and Tyler Haddon also scored for the Squires.

In the GOJHL Marcel Berube and Brett Fisher scored twice for the Predators with singles going to Keenan Dawdy and Max Griffioen in a 7-6 overtime loss to the Lincolns in St. Marys. Lambton Shores is home to St. Thomas Saturday at 7;30pm.

The Sarnia Legionnaires host Leamington Saturday at 7;10pm.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
