Northern hosts SWOSSAA Basketball Finals

The Northern Vikings will look to continue their strong season Wednesday night, with a trip to OFSAA on the line.

The Vikings hosts Windsor's Holy Names for a 7pm tip off at Sarnia's Northern.

After posting a very impressive 10-0 record during the regular season, the Vikings beat Great Lakes 75-30 on Saturday to win the LKSSAA final. Samuel Fairbairn was named MVP of the championship game, while Noah Labelle-Voisey was the Defensive Player of the Game.

OFSAA for Senior Boys 'AAA' Basketball will be in North Bay from March 6-8.

In other LKSSAA action Wednesday, the playoff schedule gets under way in senior girls and boys hockey.

St. Pat's will face off against Chatham-Kent in the girls semifinals for a 2pm puck drop at Chatham's Erickson Arena.

On the boys side, LCCVI hosts Wallaceburg for a 2pm puck drop at Petrolia's Greenwood Recreation Centre.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
