Squires Set For Second Round Series

The Petrolia Squires are set to take on the Mapleton-Minto 81's in a best of seven second round series.

The Squires don't have home ice, so the series opens Friday night in Palmerston. Game two will be in Petrolia Sunday evening, with game four in Petrolia as well, on Sunday, March 5th.

Mapleton-Minto finished second in the WOAA standings with a 16-3-0-0 record, five points ahead of the third place Squires. The 81's allowed just 59 goals against during the regular season, the second lowest total among the 14 team league.

This will be the first time the two teams meet this season.

The Squires beat Ripley last weekend, to eliminate the Wolves in five games. Petrollia was lead offensively by Brent Sauve, who scored seven goals and added seven assists in five games.
