Squires Split weekend Games With Mapleton-Minto

The Petrolia Squires were unable to build on their lead in their second round series against Mapleton-Minto.

The Squires recorded a game one victory on the road Friday night, but dropped a 3-2 decision at home Sunday evening, evening the series at one win each.

Trailing 3-0 through two periods, the Squires got goals from Jeff Paulley and Corey Pawley in the final frame.

The two teams meet again Friday night, before the Squires host game four on Sunday, back at the Greenwood Recreation Centre.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
