LKSSAA Playoffs Continue Wednesday

A big day on the ice in high school sports as playoffs continue in both hockey and curling.

Northern (6-1) and Chatham-Kent (6-0) face off for a 2pm puck drop in the Senior Girls 'AAA' Hockey Finals at Sarnia Arena. On the boys side, LCCVI (6-2) hosts North Lambton (5-3) out at the Greenwood Recreation Centre in Petrolia. Tuesday, the Lancer's Senior Girls Hockey team won the 'AA' finals. Semifinals today in boys and girls curling. A pair of Northern teams are in action in the girls division, one taking on Wallaceburg, the other St Pat's. Two St. Pats teams are playing on the boys side, with the Irish taking on Ridgetown in one semifinals, and UCC in the other. All those games at the Blenheim Curling Club.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
