High School Soccer To Return This Week

The high school soccer season is set to get underway this week after the Lambton Kent Secondary School Athletic Association has signed a new two-year contract with the Ontario Soccer Association.

The deal will be in place until the end of the 2017-2018 season.

A new schedule is expected to be released Tuesday, with games planned for later this week.

In a statement on the league site, LKSSAA Convenor James Clarke says they are working to start the season as soon as possible.

"The convenor of the soccer league is currently drafting new schedules to meet the shortened season," says Clarke. "A new schedule for the 2017 season will be released on April 25."

The start of the season was suppose to get underway last week, but had to be delayed as LKSSAA officials worked on getting a new deal with the OSA and their referees.
