Semifinal Soccer Set For Tuesday

A full slate of playoff soccer is on tap for Tuesday afternoon, with seven semifinal games on the schedule.

In Senior Girls Soccer, the first 'AAA' semifinals will feature Northern (7-0-1) and Great Lakes (3-4). They kick off at 3:30pm with the winner advancing to Thursday's final. The other semi final features Ursuline College (5-2-1) and Chatham-Kent (7-1). The only game Northern didn't win this season was against Ursuline College, the two sides played to a scoreless draw on May 1st.

In the 'AA' finals, LCCVI (1-6) travels to North Lambton (3-4) for a 5pm kick off, while first place Wallaceburg (4-3) hosts John McGregor (0-8).

On the senior boys circuit, first place Northern (6-0-1) takes on Chatham-Kent (1-5-1) at 2pm at Norm Perry Park. Ursuline College (5-0-2) hosts St. Pat's (5-2) in the other semifinal, that is a 3:30pm kickoff from UCC.

North Lambton (2-3-2) hosts Wallaceburg (2-5) Tuesday afternoon in the first semifinal in the 'AA' division. LCCVI (3-2-2) is set to play John McGregor (0-7) in the other semi but no game is on the LKSSAA schedule. John McGregor has forfeited its last three games.

The LKSSAA finals in senior boys and girls soccer are set for Thursday afternoon in both 'AA' and 'AAA" divisions.

The 'A' finals are scheduled for Wednesday. The senior girls final will feature Pain Court and Ridgetown. Lambton-Kent plays Tilbury in the snior boys 'A' final.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
