Shepherd Lights Out In Braves Victory

The Sarnia Braves posted their fifth straight victory with a 10-1 triumph over the Oakridge Tin Caps Monday night

Pitcher Anthony Shepherd was at his best, striking out 15 en route to a complete game two-hit victory, improving his record to 2-0 on the young season.

Sarnia scattered 12 hits in the victory, with all nine starters reaching base at least once. Lance Hart was the only starter without a hit, but he walked three times in four plate appearances, and ended up scoring twice.

Second basemen Josh Taylor reached base four times with two hits, two walks and two RBI's. Alex McLean and Vince Caschera also had two hits and both drove in a pair of runs.

Sarnia is back in action in Southwestern League play this Wednesday against the London Badgers at Labatt Park. Game time is 7:30pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
