Rivalries To Reignite In LKSSAA Soccer Finals

There will be some familiar foes facing off in the LKSSAA soccer finals Thursday afternoon.

In the senior boys division, Northern will play St. Pat's in the 'AAA' finals after beating Chatham-Kent 6-2. St. Pat's went into Ursuline College and defeated the Lancers 4-2 Tuesday afternoon to earn a spot in Thursday's final. The Vikings had the best regular season regard at 6-0-1, but the Irish weren't far behind at 5-2. Northern won the only meeting between the two teams this season, a 4-1 decision on May 4th.

It'll be a Lambton Country match up in the 'AA' final when North Lambton squares off with LCCVI. The Eagles doubled up Wallaceburg 4-2 Tuesday afternoon.

Northern advanced to the LKSSAA finals on the senior girls side as well. Lauryn Hibma and Aliyah Greaves each scored twice, while Abby Allardyce and McKenna Jackson added singles in a 6-0 triumph over Great Lakes. Tori McRae and Mya McArthur combined for the clean sheet in net. The Vikings will face Chatham-Kent in Thursday's 'AAA' Final after the Golden Hawks beat Ursuline College 2-0 in the other semifinal.

Five different girls tallied for North Lambton as they beat LCCVI 5-3 to advance to the 'AA' finals against Wallaceburg on Thursday. Selena Dirven, Alexis McCreath-Frangakis, Olivia Pavic, Kara Russel and Kara VanMoorsel found the back of the net for the Eagles. Lyndsi Hull scored twice and Marissa Swan also scored for the Lancers.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
