Sarnia Hosting Annual Competition For Seniors

Over 600 competitors are in Sarnia Wednesday for the Ontario Senior Games Association's (OSGA) Southwest Regional Games.

Participants will take part in 20 fun activities throughout the day, including euchre, bocce, five pin bowling, slow pitch, cribbage, shuffleboard, golf and tennis.

Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded for each event.

To cap off the day, closing ceremonies and dinner will be held at the Clearwater Arena at 5pm.

It's one of a number of regional games, with stops also planned in Pembrooke, York Region, and Hamilton this summer.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
