Sting Lose In Overtime

The Sarnia Sting rallied with two goals in the third period to tie the game before losing 4-3 in overtime to the visiting Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.

The Sting fell behind 2-0 before Anthony Salinitri scored in the opening minute of the second period.

Trailing 3-1 in the third Drake Rymsha and Salinitri scored to send the game into overtime.

The Hounds' Jack Kopaka scored 57 seconds into OT.

Morgan Frost scored twice for Sault Ste. Marie with Barrett Hayton also scoring.

Jordan Kyrou and Connor Schlicting had two assists each with Sarnia's Justin Fazio stopping 33 of 37 shots.

Matthew Villalta turned aside 25 Sting shots.

The win moves the Greyhounds to within a point of first place Sarnia in the OHL's West Division.

The Sting host Owen Sound Sunday at 2;05pm. The pregame show starts at 1;40pm on 103.9 FM - 1070 AM CHOK.

Among other games in the "O" Joseph Raaymakers stopped 32 shots and Robert Thomas scored a hat trick as the Knights blanked Flint 9-0.

Greg Meireles scored the eventual winner on a power play as the Kitchener Rangers edged Windsor 4-3 and Mississauga doubled Saginaw 4-2.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
