Local Winners At the GOJHL Awards Banquet

Some local winners at the GOJHL Western Cofnerence Awards Banquet Monday night.

Petrolia's Brenden Trottier of the London Nationals was a first team All-Star, and the Western Conference's leading scorer. Trottier scored 30 goals and added 50 assists in 49 games with London this season, his fourth in the GOJHL.

Lambton Shores forward Wes Dobbin and Legionnaires goalie Jorgen Johnson were named to the rookie all star team. The 16-year-old Dobbin finished second on the Preds in scoring with 20 goals and 24 assists. Johnson posted a 17-21-0-1 record in 39 appearances this season.

Legionnaires General Manager Bob Williamson was honoured with the GOJHL's Convenors Award.

Chatham Maroons captain Steven Beenakers won the best defensive forward award.

LaSalle Vipers forward Liam MacDougall was awarded the CHOK Player of the Year.  MacDougall also received the Chester Pegg Award for outstanding ability and sportsmanship.

Sarnia Sting prospect Braden Henderson of the Chatham Maroons won the CIMCO Refrigeration award for the most outstanding first year as a defenceman. He was also named to the all rookie team.
