Tampa Bay Lighting Honour Sting Legend Steven Stamkos

On January 12, 2018 the Sarnia Sting raised Steven Stamkos's #91 to the rafters at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena. The ceremony that preceded the banner raising paid tribute to the forwards two seasons with the Sting where he scored 197 points in 124 games.

Since his time in junior hockey, Stamkos has gone on to become an elite scorer in the NHL for the Tampa Bay Lightning, scoring over 40 goals four separate times including one 60 goal season.

Bryan Burns, a writer from the teams website, let Lightning fans know of a city in southern Ontario that appreciates Stamkos just as much as they do.
