Legionnaires Announce 2018-19 Leadership Group

The Sarnia Legionnaires have announced their leadership group for the upcoming GOJHL hockey season.

Alec DeKoning will serve as captain, while Jake Vince, Jon Sanderson, and Ben Schoch will be Alternates.

DeKoning, a 20-year-old Wallaceburg native, is entering his fourth full season with the Legionnaires. He had 18 goals and 47 points in 37 games last season, and has 111 career points through 130 contests.

Vince is coming into his third year with the team. The 18-year-old from Sarnia scored 11 goals and added 10 assists in 44 games last year, and ranked second on the club with 87 penalty minutes.

Sanderson is a 19-year-old forward from Clyde Twp, MI. In his first season as a Legionnaire in 2017-18, he potted 20 goals and dished out 23 helpers in 44 games.

Schoch, a 19-year-old Sarnia native, had 26 points including three goals last season. The 6' 7'', 240 lbs. defenceman is entering his third season with the team.

The league has yet to announce the schedule for the upcoming season.
