Sting Forward Scores In Canada's Win Over U.S.

Sarnia Sting forward Jamieson Rees scored as Canada advanced to the gold-medal game of the Hlinka Gretzky Cup under-18 hockey tournament with a controversial 6-5 overtime victory over the United States.

Josh Williams scored twice, including the overtime winner.

Alexis Lafreniere, Xavier Parent and Dylan Cozens also scored for the Canadians, who forced overtime in the semifinal on a goal that likely shouldn't have counted as time had just barely expired.

Canada was given credit for the goal on a shot by Cozens, catching a major break as there was no video review to go to, sending the game to overtime where Williams scored 1;44 in.

The Canadians will play Sweden, who edged Russia 2-1 in the other semi.

Gametime is 9pm.
